“At Elgon, we know that a company’s most important resource is the men and women who work there. For that reason, human resources will be present at each stage of our employees’ careers: recruitment, integration, follow-up and professional development.
They provide our managers and employees with support day-in, day-out, all the while ensuring that the company’s core values are at the forefront of what they do.
- To attract and develop talents who are then able to flourish within the company
- To develop our skills and expertise in such a way that enables us to meet the demands of our clients while promoting the professional development of our employees
- To pay close attention to the well-being of our employees
- To maintain a family atmosphere within the company”.
Delphine, Head of recruitment
We place a particular emphasis on corporate culture, taking steps to ensure that all employees are able to identify with our values. We place our trust in our staff, something which shines through in the positive atmosphere found within the company. We organise regular events and days out in order to give our employees the chance to spend time together outside of work.
“The best strategies in the world count for nothing if they are not developed and implemented by the right people, in the right place and at the right time. This should be a guiding principle when it comes to the work we do, our recruitment and our management. Individuals should contribute their motivation, their work and a desire to surpass themselves by operating in a client-oriented fashion. The company, meanwhile, should respect individuals, in addition to listening to them, motivating them, evaluating them, making them stand out and rewarding them.
A fun environment, in marked contrast to excessive hierarchy and bureaucracy, makes companies more open. All individuals are important to the company, and they should know as much. What matters is dialogue and open-mindedness. What counts is real work carried out with genuine enthusiasm, working with others to ensure that ideas are able to circulate freely. All new ideas are welcome.
It is vital to listen to others and to build dialogue within a trusting environment in order to ensure that all individuals have a sense of dignity at their place of work.
At Elgon, we make sure our employees always have the chance to make their views heard. We see their opinions and ideas as building blocks in the creation of a high-tech company.
Because a team spirit and a family atmosphere are of utmost importance for Elgon, we also ensure meetings involving our employees are held on a regular basis. Whether it’s general meetings followed by drinks, chill-out sessions in our games room or trips to sporting events or parties, we do everything we can to ensure that all of our employees are able to find their feet within the company and to interact with each other despite our constant growth.”
Joëlle, Head of Human Resources
The possibility of evolution
We are always ready to listen to the expectations of our employees. We pay close attention to the work they do and strive to ensure they get the rewards they deserve. Ensuring that we are always there when you need us and that we are able to match your ambitions are two of our main concerns as we look to build your satisfaction and your attachment to the company.
“After joining Elgon at the start of 2017, I was tasked with an assignment involving Citrix and Microsoft projects with clients in a number of fields, including telecommunications and finance.
At the same time, I was able to develop my skills by acquiring certification in the latest products from the Elgon certification centre.
I quickly realised that it was the “human” aspect of Elgon that set them apart, with the company placing their trust in me and giving me the opportunity to develop. I am now leader of a team made up of 5 individuals. Where possible, I organise one-to-ones or meetings involving the whole team in order to ensure that everyone feels good both within their team and within the company. ”
Michel, Team Leader
Support & training
Our technical team is responsible for the ongoing monitoring of your skills, as well as responding to your requests for technical development or training. Via the training centre belonging to our sister company, Elgon, employees have easy access to training, whether it’s with your clients, with your team or individually. We also give you the option of obtaining certification throughout the year on a range of subjects.
“In the testimonies from consultants applying for jobs within the company, candidates have shared with us how they feel about companies operating in the IT industry: “the majority of IT companies headhunt you, employ you and then forget about you”.
This idea really spoke to us. We feel it is vital to listen to what consultants have to say and to what they want to do. What we do is take an interest in them, turning the tables and, instead of “making skills fit a given client need”, we find out what it is that motivates them, what their ideal project is and then find it for them.
As part of this new collaboration, at Elgon, a company which always values its employees, we strive to ensure that projects are executed correctly through a system of regular technical monitoring. Consultants evolve on a daily basis, they have their own aspirations when they join us, and we hope that they also want to develop in their careers.
Meetings are held once a year, or more frequently should consultants so wish. The purpose of these meetings is to discuss positive aspects and areas for improvement with a view towards development, all the while reassuring consultants with regards to their work and the visibility of their projects as far as the client is concerned.
Given that this is a tripartite relationship, meetings are scheduled involving the service company, the consultant and the relevant point of contact from the client.
Naturally, technical matters are discussed, but we also make sure to assess things from a human perspective. These technical assessments are used to identify the consultant’s expectations from a technical point of view, in addition to determining whether or not they require training or if they would like to refine their skills in relation to a technology with which they would like to become an expert. They are also useful for measuring consultant satisfaction within the scope of their assignment and with regards to the work being carried out. These discussions are open and are held between the client point of contact, who will be writing their own assessment, and the consultant, who will be writing theirs. This will also involve discussing targets for the next period.
During the second phase, the human assessment, we evaluate the consultant’s overall satisfaction as far as their assignment is concerned and in relation to their integration within the client’s team and within Elgon.
In the event of any difficulties being encountered, we are in a position to offer solutions from both a human and a technical perspective.”
Xavier, Head of Training & Field Consulting
